Dr. Marieke van Erp is a Language Technology and Semantic Web expert with a penchant for interdisciplinary research. Together with WP4, she will be working on developing software tools that can recognise references to smells and scents in texts. Olfaction is a totally new application domain for language technology so we will really be breaking ground here. As project manager of Odeuropa, she will liaise between the different disciplines to create a multidimensional, digital, searchable representation of our olfactory heritage.
