Andrea Büttner

Prof. dr. Andrea Büttner studied food chemistry at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and wrote her doctorate, and subsequently received her university lecturer qualification, at Technische Universität München in the field of aroma research. She established and headed the Department of Sensory Analytics at Fraunhofer IVV in 2007 until present. Concurrently, she created an Aroma Research workgroup at FAU, where she was appointed W2 Professor of Aroma Research in 2012 and W3 Professor of Aroma and Smell Research in 2017. In 2017, she was appointed Deputy Director of Fraunhofer IVV. In addition to sensory analytics, her other research interests include environmental and contaminant analytics and the development of associated technologies.
