Location:
The Smell Culture Fair will take place at the historical Trippenhuis built for the brothers Louys (1605–1684) and Hendrick Trip (1607–1666) on Amsterdam’s Kloveniersburgwal canal and the former home of Rembrandt’s Nightwatch. What’s going on in Amsterdam?
If you have some extra time before or after the event why not go on a local smell tour? Last year, we launched City Sniffers, a self-guided smell tour of Amsterdam’s eco history. Using a free phone application developed by the Odeuropa team, participants walk around smelling and exploring stories connected to the history of Amsterdam. The tour includes an illustrated Rub’n’Sniff card with a map with five emblematic aromas. We will have free cards to share during the Smell Culture Fair but you can also pick one up during business hours at the reception of the KNAW Humanities Cluster, Oudezijds Achterburgwal 185, 1012 DK Amsterdam (< 5 min walk from the Trippenhuis).
